Vancouver’s premium early parenting show, The Baby Show, is back and will feature workshops, seminars and demos from Canada’s leading parenting experts. Even resident Jim Henson creations Elmo and the Cookie Monster are making an appearance all the way from Sesame Street.
Canada’s leading and most respected pregnancy and early parenting consumer show takes place annually every spring and fall season in Toronto and every fall in Vancouver. The show is considered the ultimate one-stop destination for baby-related, local handmade products for moms, dads, and parents-to-be.
What started as a family-run event, made up of Eliades’ son, sister-in-law, daughter, cousins, niece, nephews, close friends, as well as his kids’ friends, has grown and expanded since being acquired by Blue Ant Media, who also own the Toronto Home Shows, Cottage Life Shows and Seasons Christmas Shows. “On the ground, The Baby Show Vancouver is still a very tight-knit group, and at the end of the show, we have a great dinner together to celebrate,” says Eliades. “Some kids who started working with me still love volunteering at the show.”
Eliades and co. provide an essential shopping destination for moms, with the upcoming event in Vancouver showcasing why they are the only ‘retailer’ to offer parents the opportunity to speak to the manufacturer directly. This, in-turn, works twofold as manufacturers are given the chance to learn from parents in a jam-packed weekend that also includes hands-on training sessions, seminars, and much-needed pampering from leading health and parenting experts.
This methodology serves as a tool to educate and empower new parents for everything from
postpartum recovery, to nurturing your child’s oral health, to the physiological and emotional bonding aspects of Babywearing. These are just some of the top attractions and incentives expectant parents need to attend the show.
The Baby Show is in partnership with The Baby Academy, which offers a complimentary two-hour course for soon-to-be-mothers in the second or third trimester, covering a wide range of topics including:
- Diaper Changing
- Safe Swaddling
- Safe Sleep
- Skin, Nail, and Cord Care
